CZUR Scanners
CZUR makes overhead scanners: a camera on an arm looks down at the page, so you scan without pressing a book flat on glass or feeding sheets through rollers. You turn a page, press a button or a foot pedal, and the software flattens the curve of the spread, crops the page and can turn the text into searchable PDF or Word files. Four CZUR scanners are offered here. They differ mainly in resolution, maximum page size, how thick a book they handle and how portable they are.

CZUR ET MAX
The flagship book scanner. A 38MP sensor (7168 × 5376) scans at 410 dpi by default, flat sheets up to A3 and books up to A4 as thick as 50 mm. It has a top LED with side lights, three laser lines to guide flattening, an HDMI output for presenting, about 1.5 seconds per page, and triggers by device button, software, hand button or foot pedal. It exports JPG, PDF, searchable PDF, Word, Excel and TIFF (converted from JPG) with OCR in more than 180 languages, and CZUR lists Windows XP/7 or later, macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon and 12 or later on Intel Macs, and Ubuntu 20.04 to 24.04.
CZUR Aura Pro
A foldable book scanner that packs away between jobs. It has a 14MP sensor (4320 × 3240), takes about 2 seconds per page and scans material smaller than A3. It includes a foot pedal, side light, three laser lines and a 2-inch preview screen.
CZUR Shine800A3 Pro
A flat-document scanner with autofocus and an adjustable-height arm that reaches A3. It's built for loose sheets, forms, drawings and ledgers rather than thick books. 8MP (3280 × 2460), about 340 dpi at A4 and about 245 dpi at A3, under a second per page, with a stepless top LED and a foot pedal. Net weight about 1 kg.
CZUR Lens800 Pro
The most compact option, for A4 pages. 8MP at about 270 dpi, a page in about a second, automatic page-turn detection and fixed focus. Its base rotates 180° so it works as a webcam, recording 1920 × 1080 or 1600 × 1200 video with sound.
How to choose
Books or loose pages? For bound books, choose a model with book flattening: the ET MAX (books up to 50 mm thick) or the Aura Pro. For loose pages, the Shine800A3 Pro or Lens800 Pro are simpler.
Largest page size. For A3 drawings, newspapers or ledgers, choose the ET MAX or Shine800A3 Pro. The Aura Pro scans material smaller than A3, and the Lens800 Pro stops at A4.
Resolution. Text documents read well at 200 to 300 dpi. For archiving photos, maps or fine print, the ET MAX's 410 dpi gives the most detail.
Space and travel. The Aura Pro folds. The Lens800 Pro is small and doubles as a webcam.
Hands-free scanning. For long books, a foot pedal speeds things up. The ET MAX, Aura Pro and Shine800A3 Pro have one.
